June is National Black Music Month and we’re celebrating with a playlist you can turn on quietly while you work, get energized to fire up a cigar and your grill, or play in the background when you entertain friends.

We start it off with the late great Barry White, native of Galveston, Texas. June 19 is Juneteenth and Galveston is the reason for the season. The rest of the playlist is devoted to late 80s and 90s R-n-B music featuring Maxwell, Zhane, Donell Jones and more.
